Stay Matte, Stay Flawless

By Emma Robinson

So, Beyonce wants us all to proclaim “I woke up like disss” and “we flawless”, which we will all obviously do because Bey is Queen but, we know it takes a lot more than just waking up to look flawless. One of my favorite products for achieving a flawless face is Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

I have used a lot of different powders over the years and many left my make-up looking cakey and did not necessarily keep my face matte. Rimmel’s Stay Matte goes on so light, looking natural while still controlling shine. I’m kinda obsessed with it. I keep one in my bag, one in my vanity, another in case I run out. I probably have four or five of them at any given time because the thought of running out is terrifying.

I love how the Stay Matte feels so smooth and silky and is so incredibly light, giving your skin a great, soft finish. It even minimizes the appearance of pores! After I apply my foundation and contour I take a big fluffy real techniques face brush and apply the pressed powder all over my face and neck. The powder sets my foundation and the rest of my make-up flawlessly, not moving anything out of place and making my skin appear so smooth and natural. After I apply it my skin does not feel as if I have a pound of make-up on (which I might) my skin just feels perfect.

I have combination skin so I tend to get a bit shiny on my chin and nose as the day goes on and it used to drive me absolutely nuts, but now I don’t even worry about it. I basically do not leave the house without Stay Matte and a travel face brush in my bag. If I feel like my face is getting a little shiny or I am shocked at what I look like when I pass a mirror I take out my pressed powder and buff it into where it is needed and then I’m a happy camper. I never feel like I have just added a new layer of makeup or like it doesn’t blend in with my initial make-up. It just simply blends in. The best part is that it is totally affordable, so you never have to feel guilty for basically having one for your house, your bag, your car, really anywhere you are. I give Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder an A++.

10 Top Spring 2014 Trends

By: Brittni Brown

Before you begin to chip away at your resolution to clean out your closet, take a look at this runway report guide to the top 2014 fashion trends for spring. It could help you make decisions on what to keep and what to toss.

1. Metallics

In addition to the gold and silver standbys, jewel colored foiled fabrics were a standout on the runways.

4. Tea Length Skirts

If the maxi and the midi had a lovechild, it would be the tea length skirt. The best news: if you were too tall for that maxi or too short for that midi you got at a sample sale last year, there is no need to update the hem to be on trend this year.

5. Nautical

This resort collection mainstay bleeds over into the spring and summer collections and is easily recreated with mariniere stripes, knits, and patriotic color palette pieces.

6. 90′s Throwback

Destroyed denim, grunge plaid and logo play are here to stay, but the 90′s spring revival will be more about proportions than patterns. Think voluminous sleeves, oversized biker jackets, vests, and overalls for the daring.

10. Wide Leg Pants

Like it or not, crop tops are here to stay. The new way to wear them is with the new wide leg pants which lends the perfect proportional balance. On the flipside, slinky silk versions were shown over tunics at Chanel Cruise and Trina Turk for impeccable relaxed looks.
